Working outside in the elements can certainly pose a lot of safety hazards, one of the most dangerous being high heat. Working in high heat can cause a variety of different ailments that can result in dehydration, exhaustion, and in serious cases, death. This is why it becomes increasingly important to protect outdoor-working employees from these ailments, all classified as heat stress.

The Center for Disease Control and NIOSH have teamed up to create this heat stress infographic which breaks down the various steps that can be taken to prevent heat stress from happening to your employees. It goes without saying that the biggest precaution that should be taken is providing employees with plenty of water, and to encourage them to drink it whenever possible. Check out the additional tips from this infographic and encourage employees to follow the precautions and heat stress tips shown. It could just prevent a serious situation from happening.
