Course Overview

Our workplace is full of hazards, hazards than can hurt us, or kill us. Controlling these hazards and preventing injuries isthe point of our safety and health program. One such hazard is the conditions that exist inside confined spaces such asmanholes, tanks, vessels, pits and similar areas. Controlling access to confined spaces and the hazards they contain canprevent injuries and safe lives. That is the point of our facility’s Confined Space Entry Program and that is the point ofthis program.

Topics include the confined space entry permit, atmospheric hazards, atmospheric testing and monitoring, other confinedspace hazards and how they are controlled and the duties of the entry supervisor, the attendant and the entrants.
