Under OSHA rules, telehandlers are classified as Class 7 rough-terrain powered industrial trucks. While a warehouse forklift lifts loads vertically over its front wheels, a telehandler utilizes a telescoping boom that extends both outward and upward, creating a moving center of gravity that dynamically increases leverage against the front of the machine.
Every telehandler configuration behaves differently based on boom angle, extension distance, and attachment weight.
