This second installment of the maintenance safety series focuses on critical physical hazards and specialized procedures not covered in Part 1. This training provides detailed instruction on safe work practices for hot work (welding, cutting, grinding) and the necessary fire prevention protocols, including the role of the fire watch. It also covers the safe setup, use, and inspection of temporary access equipment, including ladders and scaffolding , emphasizing stable footing and fall protection requirements. Finally, participants learn best practices for working near heavy overhead equipment and lifting operations, ensuring they can safely execute their technical duties while managing high-risk physical environments and remaining compliant with relevant OSHA standards .
