This foundational course establishes the critical safety protocols necessary for all personnel working within or supporting the Maintenance Department . As Part 1 of a series, this training focuses on two core, high-risk areas: the strict implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to control hazardous energy and prevent unexpected equipment startup, and compliance with the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom) . Participants will learn how to properly isolate equipment, apply and remove LOTO devices, and understand their responsibilities regarding Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical labeling to mitigate mechanical and chemical exposure hazards common to maintenance, repair, and facility upkeep.
