The job isn't done until the machine is running safely again. You’ve finished the repair, but the danger isn't over. A forgotten wrench in the gears or a coworker standing in the wrong spot can turn a routine startup into a disaster. This training short guides you through the strict Restoration of Energy protocols that prevent post-maintenance accidents. We emphasize the "clean sweep" inspection, ensuring all tools are removed and guards are replaced. But the most critical rule is about the lock itself. Do you know the only person legally allowed to remove a specific LOTO device? We clarify this strict authorization rule and the notification process you must complete before flipping the switch. Watch this video to ensure your return-to-service procedure is as safe as your shutdown.

Only the authorized employee who originally applied the lockout/tagout device may remove it.
The very first step is to ensure that the machinery or equipment has been properly reassembled and that no parts are missing.
You must inspect the machinery to ensure the removal of all nonessential items, including any tools that may have been accidentally left behind.
The authorized employee must notify all affected employees that servicing is completed, that the lockout/tagout devices are being removed, that energy will be re-applied, and that controls are in neutral.
You must make sure all employees are safely outside of any potential danger zones related to the machinery.
