Course Overview

This comprehensive training course reinforces the critical role of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as the final barrier between a worker and workplace hazards. While the course emphasizes that PPE is the last resort in the Hierarchy of Controls , it provides detailed instruction on how to select the correct gear when hazards cannot be engineered out. Participants will explore a "head-to-toe" approach to safety, covering eye and face protection , hard hats, gloves, and protective suits. Crucially, the training covers the maintenance and inspection of gear—teaching workers to spot defects like cracks in helmets or tears in suits—and the proper protocols for donning and doffing (putting on and removing) contaminated clothing safely.
