Course Overview

This foundational HAZWOPER training module introduces the S.T.E.P. methodology (Site Safety and Health Plan, Training, Emergency Response Plan, and Personnel) for compliance with safety standards governing hazardous waste operations and emergency response. The course focuses on the core principles of emergency preparedness , teaching personnel how to recognize an emergency situation, the importance of pre-planning, and their initial actions during an uncontrolled release of hazardous substances . Participants will learn about facility-specific Emergency Response Plans , recognizing the limits of their training, immediate communication procedures, and the vital steps necessary to initiate the response process safely while protecting themselves and others in accordance with HAZWOPER (29 CFR $\S1910.120$ ) regulations.
