Course Overview

One of the greatest challenges of driving is dealing with other drivers, especially those who are careless, rude or just plain dangerous. We have to share the road with all kinds of drivers, and some of them can be aggressive.

The driver that cuts you off, speeds through traffic, or runs through lights can be infuriating. It’s stressful to deal with them, especially when you have to abruptly swerve or stop to avoid an accident. It’s no wonder that aggressive driving is a significant contributor to fatal highway crashes.

Every state has its own laws and penalties for such aggressions as speeding, failure to yield right of way, reckless driving and more. Honestly, everyone knows the rules of the road. The question is, do you know how to respond to those who disregard these rules? And how good are you at keeping your cool and driving responsibly, especially when you’re in a rush? Do you know what pushes your buttons and what triggers others to drive aggressively, or what to do when faced with an aggressive driver? What about road rage? Do you know how to spot it and how to keep yourself and your passengers safe?

This course draws from resources developed by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (Speeding and Aggressive Driving Prevention | NHTSA) and The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) (Motor Vehicle Safety - Aggressive Driving | Occupational Safety and Health Administration) to provide drivers and employers with the information needed to avoid driving aggressively and respond effectively to others.

This course is for all drivers, regardless of circumstances because aggressive drivers can be anywhere and knowing how to deal with them is essential for everyone. Whether you’re running errands locally, commuting to work or negotiating traffic on a busy highway, this course has information you can use every day.
