Most people who go into sudden cardiac arrest will still have some electrical activity of the heart. The sooner an AED is attached, the greater chance of survival. An arrhythmia is any change from the normal sequence of electrical impulses. When the heart is in ventricular fibrillation, it is fluttering and will not allow the blood to reach the brain. Irreversible brain damage can occur within 4 to 6 minutes. The national average EMS response time is about 10 to 12 minutes. Runtime: 13 Min.
