Course Overview

The objective of fire extinguisher training is to save lives and property. Fire extinguishers are not designed to fight large or spreading fires. Small extinguishers are useful only under the right conditions. Extinguishers must be inspected monthly and once a year by an authorized service company. There are a variety of extinguishers to fight different Classes of fires. Good housekeeping is an important part of fire prevention. Smoke from any type of fire kills more people than the actual fire. It is important to always call the fire department even though a fire has already been distinguished. 

This program discusses the Classes of fires and the proper chemicals used to extinguish them in a safe manner.
