Falls are the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry, accounting for 269 of the 775 construction fatalities recorded in 2012. And like other fatal workplace injuries, they’re largely preventable.
Next week’s National Safety Stand-Down (June 2-6) will highlight the importance of fall protection at construction sites. In the meantime, these images provide some extreme examples of what not to do to protect workers from falls.
