Keep in your mind that you should always exit the building if you hear fire alarm. There may be times when you will have to fight a fire yourself, you should know where the fire extinguisher in your building are located and how to use them. Let’s say you’re at work and you noticed some smoke a small fire has broken out, at this point you can call for help and get a fire extinguisher. But, if the fire starts to get out of control you have to leave. When trying to extinguish a fire, make sure the fire isn’t between you and the exit, keep your back to the exit and don’t end up trap. Make sure you’re using the right fire extinguisher base on the type of fire. Just remember P.A.S.S, first pull the pin, next aim the extinguisher at the base of the fire, squeeze the trigger firmly while holding the extinguisher upright, then sweep the extinguisher from side to side along the base of the flames.
