Atlantic Training’s "Eye Safety" Training Program provides employees with the information they need to recognize and avoid eye hazards that they can encounter in their workplace.
An estimated 24 million eye injuries occur in the U.S. each year. About 2,000 of them will occur today, and every day thereafter, while people are at work. All too many of them will cause the victim to lose some or all of their eyesight. But eye injuries can be prevented.
Topics covered include:
Glare folds into the light radiation category, prolonged exposure to glare can damage your vision by straining your eyes. Spectacles with shaded or with special purpose lenses can help reduce glare. If glare is from workplace lightning or from the arrangement of your work area, you may need to alter your work area to reduce glare. Using an anti-glare screen on your computer monitor is one way to reduce glare. Tinted eyeglass lenses or a visor type shade can help. Special computer glasses with custom job related shading are available from eye care specialists.
