In a typical laboratory many different work activities are performed each day. Chemicals may be used, mixed, stored and handled. There may be risks of exposure to radiation or biological hazards and a number of things could present a potential hazard if safe work practices are not followed. Failure to used local ventilation, cooperation that’s required can increase your exposure to hazardous substance. A messy and cluttered work area can cause you to accidentally spill chemical or sample. You may suffer an injury as a result of not wearing the correct personal protective equipment. It is your responsibility to respect the potential hazards as well as follow established safe work practices and procedures to protect yourself and your co-workers.
