Course Overview

This training will discuss the responsibility to ensure all employees are entitled to a safe workplace, as outlined in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) General Duty Clause (29 USC 654 S5).

This training will provide employers and employees an understanding of top injuries in a workplace environment, whether in the office or working remotely, and how to avoid them as people are working increasingly longer work weeks. Identifying some of the top injuries in a typical office or remote workspace will be discussed. In addition, we will take a closer look at, and discuss how to mitigate or avoid these safety hazards in the workplace.

Common office safety hazards will be identified, along with how to properly implement processes and training to provide high-quality working conditions that keep employees safe. Common hazards such as ergonomic injuries, eye strain, poor indoor air quality, and work environment, along with stress and other related mental illnesses will all be covered in this training.

Understanding the most common office hazards is the first step in maintaining office safety. Creating a plan or process to prevent those hazards from becoming injuries is the next step. This training will discuss how creating a workplace safety plan can provide tools and resources that help maintain office safety. It will also discuss the importance of communicating policies and procedures designed to promote employee safety, and open communication protocols that encourage feedback; which are all parts of an effective safety plan.

Overall, understanding that as part of the safety plan, employers need to conduct periodic job safety analyses to identify any recurring risks that could become hazards to their employees and the workplace will also be included in this training. We will discuss some of the top hazards and injuries in the workplace, whether in the office or remote workstations. Understanding one of the most important responsibilities of a management team is to provide a safe environment for all employees. Through the understanding, development, and implementation of safety plans within your organization, you can provide greater peace of mind for employees and help prevent accidents and injuries.
