There is violence all around us. Some violent acts are blatantly obvious while others are more discreet and a little harder to see unless your employees are properly trained. Violence and Security Training for healthcare workers gives your staff the tools they need to spot the results of an act of violence. These training videos address the telltale signs of Domestic Abuse, Elder Abuse, and Child Abuse. You will also find security training that helps your staff handle hostile situations for long term care facilities, what areas of the facility that maybe at the most risk and understand the behavior of the residents.
Your employees will have a better understanding of the different types of abuse and violence; and a better understanding of how he or she can make a difference with a little help.
OSHA's Position On Violence/Security Training
OSHA’s view on violence is basically twofold. First, when it comes to the work environment, there is OSHA’s mandatory directive regarding the need for employers to provide a work environment that "is free from recognizable hazards that have caused, or likely to cause, death or serious harm to employees." In the case of violence and possible physical harm, this means that employers need to immediately respond to any potential form of injury that could be sustained from violent actions, as well.
In the healthcare industry, this means the training that employees need, include how to recognize and correctly deal with patients who are or may become violent. Secondly, OSHA supports other state and federal organizations that are responsible for violence issues pertaining, for example, to situations involving children and the elderly. This can also involve OSHA initiatives encouraging the institution of violence prevention programs. The DVD training videos that we offer are designed to recognize and report Child, Elder and Domestic Abuse. Other issues involve potential harm to employees from security breaches that can leave openings for theft, terrorist attacks and other harmful scenarios. The video topics include:
