OSHA's Position On Hazardous Spills Training

The use, transportation and handling of dangerous chemicals are common occurrences in a number of different work scenarios. Because of this, OSHA has stipulated a number of mandatory regulations pertaining specifically to chemical work procedures and any subsequent accidents associated with toxic substances (OSHA 1910.119). Of course, there are some types of jobs that completely revolve around the use of hazardous chemicals and, as such, either have or need to establish firm training programs in order to ensure the safety of its workers. But even work places that only deal with hazardous chemicals on an occasional basis need to have established training and procedures in place.
