Things like extension cords creating trip hazards, flammable paper decorations being too close to a heat source (like a coffee pot), and people using wobbly chairs instead of a proper ladder to hang things.

Why is workplace fatigue a “Halloween monster”?

Workplace fatigue is a “monster” because it’s an invisible danger. Like Freddy, it attacks when you’re vulnerable (and tired). It leads to impaired judgment, slower reaction times, and a massive increase in errors and accidents on the job.

How can we make Halloween decorating at work safer?

Easy! 1) Use a proper ladder or step-stool, never a chair. 2) Keep all decorations away from heat sources and fire exits. 3) Tape down any electrical cords or extension cords so they don’t become a trip hazard. These simple Halloween safety precautions make a huge difference.

In the spirit of the season, we’re skipping the candy corn and jumping straight to the scary stuff… the safety hazards!
