In today's work environments, compressed gas is used in many fields during assembly or repair, such as refrigeration, welding, and heating, just to name a few. Industrial compressed gas can be extremely dangerous and possibly deadly. OSHA mandates that all employees that handle and use compressed gas receive Compressed Air Safety training annually. OSHA's Position On Compressed Gas Training
Compressed gas is utilized in a number of different jobs and in a number of different environments. However, compressed gas that is used in industrial environments can cause serious injury and even fatalities if certain precautions are not taken. This is why OSHA has instituted a number of mandatory regulations when it comes mitigating the three major compressed air dangers of; skin penetration leading to Hemorrhaging and pain, flying debris and high noise level hearing damage. In addition, there are also a number of OSHA mandatory regulations that cover the correct use, transportation and storage of compressed gas cylinders.
